Turn an Unexpected Family Detour into Self-Care

Goal: Make an unexpected detour work to my advantage

This weekend I drove to Utah to see my dad who was having some health issues. On my day of hope my sister and I enjoyed a day at the Millpond Spa in Stansbury, Utah complete with massages, facials, and pedicures. That evening we had a family barbeque and cornhole tournament in the driveway and garage. It was a great day. Even though it was not what I had planned it turned out wonderful as it always does.

My lesson of hope: Changing plans at the last minute will always work out when a day of hope is involved. I love myself enough to make sure I still give me the self-care I deserve.
