Day of Hope #105
Monday September 13 – Day of Hope #105
Goal: Spend time with friends, sleep, write
Quote: “Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is breathe, laugh, and begin again.” – Kayla Jones
September 13th, 2021, and here I am at the SpringHill Suites Park Center in Boise, Idaho. Happy Day of Hope to me. I slept in, took a long shower, did a little meditation, and now I’m journaling. As always, it’s clear I need to journal even more, but for today I’m doing what I can.
A couple of days earlier, on September 11th, we had a girls’ game night at my friend’s house. She hosted it on her back patio with the cutest sunshine theme, and it was an absolute blast. That group of girls keeps me sane. They make me laugh so hard that my stress doesn’t stand a chance.
After the event, I stayed at the SpringHill Suites. Sunday ended up being a full rest day, I slept almost the entire day, until about 1:00 p.m., and it felt incredible. Then I grabbed Starbucks and Chili’s and watched the Denver Broncos beat the New York Giants with my cousin and a friend.
Back at the hotel, I took another nap (yes, another one!), and after that I finally got up and worked on my book. I officially have everyone’s comments added into my master manuscript. Now it’s all typed, organized, and updated. All I need to do is write two more stories and then it’s time to send the whole thing off to an editor. That part feels huge, and exciting.
My lesson of hope: Rest isn’t wasting time; rest is what refuels the parts of us that make the dream possible. When we give ourselves permission to pause, we find the strength to keep turning the next page.
