Day of Hope #120

Tuesday December 13 – Day of Hope #120

Goal: Create a vision for the year ahead

Quote: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Today's Day of Hope felt like the perfect way to close another incredible year.

When I looked outside that morning, there was just enough snow to dust the ground. It wasn't a heavy snowfall, just enough to transform everything into a quiet winter wonderland. It felt peaceful, like nature was inviting me to slow down and reflect before stepping into a brand-new year.

I spent almost the entire day in my home office.

Candles flickered softly while Christmas music played in the background, creating the perfect atmosphere for dreaming and planning. I worked on my book, reflected on everything I'd accomplished this year, and then turned my attention toward creating my vision for 2023.

As part of my yearly tradition, I watched the movie The Secret once again.

Every year it helps me clear away the noise and reconnect with what I truly want to create. It's become more than just a movie for me. It's a reminder to intentionally choose the direction I want my life to take.

After spending hours inside, the sun finally broke through the clouds. I bundled up and went for a walk.

The crisp winter air felt refreshing after sitting at my desk most of the day. Sometimes the best ideas don't come while we're working, they come while we're simply moving.

When I returned home, I finished creating my vision board. Seeing all my dreams laid out in front of me filled me with excitement. This year I would be focusing on some very big goals. Publishing my book. Building my website. Choosing my brand colors and fonts. Hiring someone to help bring Hope's Highways to life online.

Everything finally felt like it was beginning to come together.

One lesson from my tapping program especially stayed with me that day. It centered around two simple words: What if...

How often do we ask ourselves fearful questions?

What if I fail? What if no one likes my book? What if it doesn't work? The exercise challenged me to completely change the conversation.

Instead ask:

What if everything works out? What if things go in my favor? What if I succeed? What if I learn and grow from every challenge? What if there is boundless joy ahead of me? What if life becomes even better than I can imagine? I absolutely loved that shift in perspective.

Sometimes hope begins with asking ourselves better questions. Instead of expecting the worst...What if we started expecting possibility?

Bonus – A New Home for a New Chapter

This month brought one more unexpected surprise, I moved. During Christmas week and into New Year's, I packed up my life and moved into a three-bedroom townhouse.

At first, it felt like a lot. Boxes everywhere. Christmas decorations mixed with moving boxes. A little chaos. But as everything began finding its place, I realized this wasn't just a move. It was a fresh start. This new home gave me room to dream bigger. Room to create. Room to build Hope's Highways.

I also hired someone to help design my website and develop my branding, another huge step toward bringing this vision to life.

Standing in my new office, surrounded by boxes and possibility, I couldn't help but smile. Everything I've been working toward suddenly felt real. 2023 wasn't just another year. It felt like the beginning of something extraordinary. And I couldn't wait to get started.

My Lesson of Hope: Hope begins the moment we choose possibility over fear. Instead of asking, "What if it doesn't work?" ask yourself, "What if it does?" One simple question has the power to change your mindset, your direction, and ultimately, your life.
