Day of Hope #100

Tuesday April 13 – Day of Hope #100

Goal: Continue to get my manuscript done

Quote: “Hope grows in the quiet grind. In the long nights, the rewrites, and the moments when you keep going simply because your heart knows it’s worth it” – Kayla Jones

On Monday, April 12th, I checked into the new Homewood Suites by Hilton in Eagle, Idaho right at Eagle and Edgewood, across from the Eagle Greenbelt and Merrill Park. The perfect little spot for focus and peace. That evening, I treated myself to dinner at Coyne’s and savored the quiet time before diving back into book mode.

The next morning, April 13th, my special Day of Hope, I woke up around 8:30 a.m. and got straight to work. A Vision of Hope is one option for the title, and honestly, it fits perfectly. I spent the entire day editing page after page, chapter after chapter compiling everyone’s feedback alongside my own. It’s such a mix of emotions: exhausting and rewarding all at once.

I picked up where I left off last month, starting with Chapter 4, and by the end of the night, I had worked my way through Chapter 10. I barely stopped except for a 30-minute walk to Starbucks and Taziki’s for lunch. Then it was right back at it until 10:30 p.m. Straight through with one quick shower break at 6:30 p.m..

It’s a marathon, but it’s turning out so beautifully. I still have about 20,000 words to add, but I know I’ll get there. I may start working on it a bit more from home between Days of Hope, so my special 13th doesn’t feel quite so full of “work.” May will bring new adventures. I’ll be in Cleveland and New York for my next Day of Hope and I’m already looking forward to the change of scenery.

When this book is finally published, it will be amazing to look back on this entry and remember just how much time, energy, and heart went into it. The next big step is adding those extra words and hiring an editor. It’ll be exhausting, yes, but also exciting to see how it all comes together.

My lesson of hope: Even though this process is rough and tedious, I know in my heart it will be worth every minute. This book isn’t just pages, it’s purpose. It’s going to change lives, including mine. This year, I’m holding tightly to two of my personal goals: failing like a pro and doing it anyway, and becoming friends with fear. Those lessons are steering me through every rewrite, every long night, and every hopeful page ahead.
